Groton FFA empowers students to grow as leaders, build a sense of community, and strengthen agriculture through hands-on learning, innovative experiences, and service. We strive to cultivate responsibility, foster teamwork, and inspire a lifelong passion for agriculture while contributing to the success of our school and local community

Chapter PresidentJillian ZigenfusJillian is a Senior this year who is also active in 4H and shows/raises dairy cattle. She is also active in sports as well.
Chapter Vice PresidentStella HollStella is a Junior this year and is in charge of several committees. She is a star athlete and a great team player for all things FFA.
Chapter SecretaryDiella NinoDiella is a Junior who is hard working, plays multiple sports, is a fantastic team leader and goes above and beyond to promote FFA.
Chapter HistorianEve ShaffEve is a Junior and has been participating regularly in FFA and FFA events. She also plays several sports.
Chapter HistorianNattalie LombardiNattalie is a freshman rockstar at keeping track of records as well as being a participant in every CDE/LDE that she can.
Chapter Student AdvisorAdelyn CloreAdelyn is a Senior this year and is also active in 4H. She goes above and beyond for our chapter and is also a Varsity athlete.
Chapter TreasurerKara PierceKara is a Junior as well and has been very active in FFA as well as several sports and community activities.
Chapter SentinelDe'Anna MackeyDe'Anna is a team player who goes above and beyond for our chapter and is always willing to help out. She is also on Honor Roll.

Growing Leaders - Career Success
Chair: Kara Pierce
Groton FFA prepares members for future careers through hands-on learning, career exploration, and leadership opportunities that build real-world agricultural and professional skills. We serve to provide career awareness activities, strengthen employable skills, increase participation in CDE/LDEs, and support students in planning post secondary pathways in agriculture and related industries.
Growing Leaders - Healthy Lifestyle
Chair: Stella Holl
Groton FFA promotes student well being by encouraging healthy eating and cooking habits on a budget, stress management, and helping balance academics, leadership, and a personal life. The objective is to have physical and mental health awareness, encourage positive peer relationships, and support students in maintaining balance while still being active FFA members and upholding school responsibilities.
Growing Leaders - Leadership
Chair: Kara Pierce
Groton FFA develops student leaders by providing opportunities to practice leadership, teamwork, and communication through chapter activities, events, and available competitions. We work to offer leadership training and experiences, encourage active participation in chapter roles while building public speaking and teamwork skills and also preparing members to lead within their communities, school and even future careers.
Growing Leaders - Personal Growth
Chair: Adelyn Clore
We foster personal growth by helping members build confidence, character, and vital life skills that prepare them for leadership and lifelong success. Our objective is to provide opportunities for self reflection, goal setting, strong communication, decision making and encouraging members to take on leadership roles while promoting responsibility, resiliency, and continuous improvement.
Growing Leaders - Scholarship
Chair: Nattalie Lombardi
Groton FFA promotes academic excellence and lifelong learning by supporting members in achieving scholastic success and pursuing post-secondary educational opportunities. Our objective is to encourage strong academic performance, recognize achievements, have open access to all scholarship resources, assist in application support, recognize academic achievements, and support members while they prepare for technical training, college, or career certification pathways.
Building Communities - Citizenship
Chair: Brooke Sovocool
We encourage members to become active, responsible citizens through community service, leadership and engagement. The objective is to not only plan but to participate in community service projects, while building long lasting partnerships with local organizations, promote civic responsibility, and develop members' understanding of their role and abilities in strengthening their communities.
Building Communities - Economic Development
Chair: Brooke Sovocool
Groton FFA supports local economic growth by connecting students with agricultural businesses, promoting entrepreneurship, and highlighting agriculture's role in the community. Our objective is to build partnerships with local industries, provide career and business opportunities, support community based events, and demonstrate agriculture's impact on the local economy.
Building Communities - Environmental
Chair: Bryce Lane
Groton FFA promotes endless environmental stewardship and responsibility by engaging members in conservation practices and educating the community on sustainable agriculture and natural resource management. The objective is to lead conservation focused service projects, increase awareness of current and local environmental issues, incorporate sustainability into chapter activities, and encourage responsible use of natural resources.
Building Communities - Human Resources
Chair: Madelyn Pitts
Groton FFA makes it a point to support the well-being of individuals and their families by organizing service initiatives that address community needs while also promoting compassion, teamwork, and outreach. The objective is to coordinate donation drives and service projects while partnering with local organizations to assist those in need, encourage member volunteers, and strengthen connections that will improve quality of life within the community.
Building Communities - Stakeholder Engagement
Chair: Dylan Caswell
Groton FFA focuses on building strong relationships with parents, alumni, sponsors, and community partners in order to sustain and strengthen opportunities in agricultural education. The objective is to maintain consistent communication with stakeholders, recognize and involve the community supporters in chapter activities, develop new partnerships, and increase engagement through collaborative initiatives, sponsorships and events.
Strengthening Agriculture - Agricultural Advocacy
Chair: Mya Locke
Groton FFA promotes agricultural advocacy by educating not only members but the community about the importance of agriculture and encourage informed conversations about the industry. The objective is to increase agricultural awareness through outreach activities, engage with industry and community leaders, prepare members to be advocates for agriculture, and highlight the role of agriculture in food systems, the local economy, and sustainability.
Strengthening Agriculture - Agricultural Literacy
Chair: Kaitlyn Cronk
Groton FFA advances agricultural literacy by educating students and community members where their food, fiber and natural resources originate and the day to day role agriculture has in their lives. Our objective is to provide hands-n learning experiences, provide classroom outreach through Ag Literacy events, and use the student ambassadors we are developing to increase community understanding of modern agricultural practices.
Strengthening Agriculture - Chapter Recruitment
Chair: Kara Pierce
Groton FFA strengthens agriculture education by actively recruiting new members by promoting inclusive participation in FFA and agriculture related endeavors. The objectives are achieved through recruitment activities, outreach events, highlighting the benefit of agricultural education and FFA membership, engaging current members in peer recruitment, and increasing overall chapter enrollment.
Strengthening Agriculture - Safety
Chair: Diella Nino
Groton FFA promotes a culture of safety by educating members in our rural community on safe agricultural practices and responsible decision making in classrooms, lab and community settings. The objective is to provide safety education and training, model proper use of equipment and PPE, raise awareness of agricultural hazards, and ensure safe participation in all FFA and agricultural activities.
Strengthening Agriculture - Support Group
Chair: Jillian Zigenfus
Groton FFA strengthens agriculture by building a network of supportive members, families, alumni, and community partners who encourage students success and engagement in agricultural education. The objective is to foster not only mentorship, but collaboration while involving families and alumni in chapter activities, provide encouragement and resources for members, and build relationships that sustain long term support for agricultural programs and our chapter.
